Defective Gas Wall Heater Attorneys in Los Angeles
Holding Manufacturers Accountable for Deadly Heater Defects
It doesn’t often get cold enough in Southern California to turn on the heat in our homes. When the wind picks up and the temperatures drop, however, many of us depend on gas wall heaters to fend off the chill. Unfortunately, the gas wall heaters that make life more comfortable for many Los Angeles residents can occasionally result in serious injuries and death by causing fires, gas explosions, or more commonly, carbon monoxide poisoning.
At Beston International Law Firm, our attorneys have successfully resolved many cases in which people were injured or killed because of dangerous or defective gas wall heaters in Southern California. We’re not alone in recognizing the hazards caused by gas and propane space heaters, and with over 100 years of combined experience and millions won for our clients, we’re ready to fight on behalf of injury victims.

Ongoing Safety Hazards with Gas Wall Heaters
Aside from home cooking accidents, home heaters and furnaces cause more residential fires – and severe burn injuries – than any other consumer product. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), almost half of all home heating fires take place during the months of December, January, and February, as people attempt to stay warm during the winter. It’s common for people who live in apartments, condominiums, and smaller spaces to supplement their home heating system with gas and propane wall heaters – so when these devices are defective, the results can be catastrophic.
Over the years, the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued recalls for several types of wall heaters, especially those manufactured by Rinnai and Cadet. In 2006, over 2 million Cadet Company electric wall heaters were recalled after multiple children died in apartment fires in Washington State. More recently, eHeat recalled 35,000 Envi wall heater units due to overheating and burn hazards.
Common accidents associated with defective gas wall heaters:
- Explosions
- Overheating
- Burn incidents
- Carbon monoxide leaks
Whether you were severely burned in an explosion or lost a loved one to carbon monoxide poisoning, defective gas wall heaters can lead to catastrophic, life-altering injuries. In some cases, the manufacturer may be responsible for defects, or the heater could have an intrinsic design flaw that causes injuries.
